2026 school year at Edney Primary School. Students have enjoyed their start to the year and have settled well into school and classroom routines. This year we welcomed 32 Kindy students and 11 new students to our school. A special welcome to our new families.

School Start Time and Duty of Care

Each morning the school gates are opened at 8.20am. Students without an adult are required to sit in the under covered area until they are dismissed to walk to classrooms at 8.30am. Students with an adult are required to stay with them until classroom doors open.

Parent Information Sessions

It was wonderful to see so many parents and carers attending our parent information sessions. Thank you to all the teachers who provided information and the opportunity for connection with families and students for a great year ahead.

Mobile Phones and Wearable Devices

Our Mobile Phone Policy is available on our school website.

Parents and Carers who wish to bring a mobile phone or wearable device to school are asked to complete the Parent Permission Form from school administration or our website.

School Board

The School Board will be meeting on Tuesday March 10. As a governing body, with the Principal, the School Board oversees the school’s strategic planning and community engagement under the lead of our Chairperson, David Balfe. We are looking forward to a great year at Edney.

P&C

Our P&C AGM will be held on Wednesday March 18 at 6pm. We are looking forward to welcoming parents and volunteers to the team so that 2026 includes fundraising events and exciting opportunities for our students.
Our students have already participated in P&C Icy Pole Day and P&C Recess which was enjoyed by all.

Harmony Day

We are looking forward to celebrating Harmony Day on Friday March 20. Please let us know how you would like to celebrate by responding to the Harmony Day Planning Survey accessible via our connect notices.

RISE Assembly

Each fortnight students attend a RISE assembly on Monday morning. This student assembly provides the opportunity for our Student Leaders and Faction Captains to lead their peers in our Positive Behaviour Support focus areas Respect, Involvement, Safety and Environment. Our first RISE assembly on Monday February March 16 was a resounding success.

Runners Club

Runners Club, led by our fantastic Physical Education teacher, Miss Caitlyn Newlands continues to provide a wonderful opportunity for students, parents, and staff to focus on their physical fitness every Wednesday morning. In Week 3, more than 50 students participated, making it a fantastic and energetic start to the day.

Voluntary Contributions

A huge thank you to the families that have paid their voluntary contributions this year. We encourage all families to make this payment as it contributes directly to your child’s education. Progress payments are welcome.

Payment of Contributions can be made to the school office by cash, cheque or EFTPOS or by direct deposit into the school bank account.
