Principal’s Update March 2025

31Mar 2025

We are enjoying a productive term with all children displaying the school’s values of respect, and excellence. It has been wonderful to see all students engaged in their learning and building positive relationships with others. Our school website is constantly being updated; our focus has been to show are students engage in their learning.

Strength Heros

This term all classes from Year 1 – Year 6 have participated in the Strength Hero’s incursion. This has promoted the development of resilience, recognised emotions and provided tools and strategies to have a growth mindset.

Harmony Day

It was wonderful to see all the different activities in the classrooms last week to celebrate Harmony Day last week – Everyone Belongs.

Get GRIT Program

This year we are implementing the Get GRIT program. It is an evidence-informed whole school, social and emotional learning program specifically designed to support schools in their efforts to foster positive mental health and well-being in their students.

This term in the Get GRIT Program, we will be focusing on the “G” in GRIT, which stands for Getting Along. The Getting Along unit aims to teach students self-awareness, social awareness and relationship skills to establish and maintain healthy and supportive relationships and effectively navigate social settings. Students learn the skills to navigate relationships, communicate effectively, foster positive connections and thrive in various social settings, ultimately contributing to their overall well-being and success in life. By participating in this unit, students will learn how to:

  • Establish and develop positive connections.
  • Maintain healthy and supportive relationships.
  • Recognise and appreciate different perspectives (empathy development).
  • Effectively navigate social settings.
  • Communicate effectively and listen actively.
  • Identify positive ways to work out disagreements.
  • Be an upstander against bullying behaviour.

Arriving at School

Students are welcome at school from 8:20am when the gates open. We have an increasing number of students arriving before this time and ask that parents ensure children are adequately supervised prior to the gates opening. Before school care is available at several centres around High Wycombe.

Toys at School

Just a reminder that toys, including sporting equipment, are not permitted at school. If your child brings in an item to share for class news, it needs to be handed to the teacher at the start of the day and will be returned at the end.

Voluntary Contributions

A huge thank you to the families that have paid their voluntary contributions this year. We encourage all our families to make this payment as all the monies go directly to supporting your child’s education. Progress payments are welcome and can be paid at the School Administration or by direct deposit into the school bank account.

How to Make Payments

Payment of Contributions can also be made at the school office by cash, cheque, or EFTPOS or by direct deposit into the school bank account.
