Not Returning to Edney in 2026

Accuracy in projected enrolments is vital as it is the number of students that we are primarily funded on. I would ask that parents please advise the school if their child/ren will not be returning to Edney next year. Please email Edney.PS@education.wa.edu.au if and when you decide your child will not be returning. Please also indicate the school that your child/ren will be attending in 2026.

PBS – Focus Term 4

Edney Primary school is well on the journey to becoming a WA PBS school. WA PBS provides an operational framework to build a multi-tiered system of support for staff, students and a whole school community. The framework focuses on using preventative, educative and restorative principles and develops a consistent whole-school approach to embedding a common language regarding positive behaviour expectations, teaching and learning.

WA PBS Team have created lesson plans and expectations based on our whole school matrix which was discussed with staff, students and the community. The focus at the moment is Teach and Acknowledge. Teach the expectations and always acknowledge the students in action, with a current whole school system of token use.

We currently have a team of 8 staff members, who have taken part in the intermediate team training. The team meets on a fortnightly basis to implement the initiative. We are currently working on creating lesson expectations and an acknowledgement system.

PBS Rangers will be a new role for 2026, which involves the Year 5 cohort in completing PBS tasks around the school and a commitment to RISE assemblies. A parent information workshop was undertaken in Term 4 to inform the wider community on the expectations and systems in place for PBS. It is a minimum of 2 years to get sustainable change. The key to success is understanding “PBS is a marathon, not a sprint”.

Carpark – Kiss and Drive

Just a friendly reminder to not leave your vehicle unattended in the Kiss and Drive zone and not linger unnecessarily to give all parents and children the opportunity to use the space.

P&C Thank You

P&C – Pizza Lunch

The P&C have kindly offered to provide all children and staff with a pizza lunch before the end of the year. This will happen on Thursday 27 November 2025, for all classes except for EC4 Kindy (Mon-Tue) who will have their pizza lunch on Tuesday 25 November 2025. Vegetarian and gluten free options will be available.

A huge thank you to all our P&C members who have worked so hard this year to fundraise and build the wonderful sense of community we have at Edney PS.

The P&C will be seeking donations for their annual Cake Stall held on Thursday 18 December 2025 and I’m sure they will receive many donations from our families.

Voluntary Contributions

A huge thank you to the families that have paid their voluntary contributions this year. We encourage all our families to make this payment as all the monies go directly to supporting your child’s education. Progress payments are welcome and can be paid at the School Administration or by direct deposit into the school bank account.

How to Make Payments

Payment of Contributions can also be made at the school office by cash, EFTPOS or by direct deposit into the school bank account.
