As we celebrate the end of Term 3, I would like to acknowledge all our staff for their outstanding effort over the term. We have had many celebrations and special events, including Book Week, Book Fair, our Art Show and Faction Carnivals. Many staff have gone above and beyond to assist in organising these events.

Arriving at School

Students are welcome at school from 8:20am when the gates open. We have an increasing number of students arriving before this time and ask that parents ensure children are adequately supervised prior to the gates opening. Before school care is available at several centres around High Wycombe.

Class Placement 2026

The process of creating class lists for the 2026 school year will commence next term. Parents who feel they have relevant information pertaining to the placement of their child in 2026 should advise me in writing. All correspondence should be addressed to the Principal (Rebecca.Coslani@education.wa.edu.au) and be received no later than 4:00 pm, 17 October 2025.

Parents are advised that requests for specific teachers and or requests for non-placement in composite classes or tandem arrangements are not considered. The school does not view these arrangements as detrimental to students’ academic or social development. Parents should also be aware that correspondence provided to the Principal will be considered by staff but does not guarantee a particular outcome being sought by parents. If I am unable to meet a request, I will have a conversation with you regarding this. Requests from previous years do not follow over to the next year and therefore, must be made again.

2026 School Destinations or Not Returning to Edney in 2026

Planning for Edney’s 2026 school year has commenced. Accuracy in projected enrolments is vital as it is the number of students that we are primarily funded on. I would ask that parents please advise the school if their child/ren will not be returning to Edney next year.

Please email Edney.PS@education.wa.edu.au if and when you decide your child will not be returning. Please also indicate the school that your child/ren will be attending in 2026.

School Security

We have had some damage to the school in recent weeks and people on the school grounds after the end of the school day displaying anti-social behaviour. Parents are asked to be alert and report any suspicious behaviour within the school to School Watch 1800 177 777 or the police on 131 444.

We will be locking all the gates around the school starting at 3:10pm/2:45pm (Wednesday). To assist we ask that you leave the school grounds once you have collected your children. If you are still on the grounds after this time due to a parent meeting, you will need to exit the school via the office

Voluntary Contributions

A huge thank you to the families that have paid their voluntary contributions this year. We encourage all our families to make this payment as all the monies go directly to supporting your child’s education. Progress payments are welcome and can be paid at the School Administration or by direct deposit into the school bank account.

How to Make Payments

Payment of Contributions can also be made at the school office by cash, cheque, or EFTPOS or by direct deposit into the school bank account.

We have enjoyed a very productive term with all children displaying the school’s values of respect, and excellence. It has been wonderful to see all students engaged in their learning and building positive relationships with others. Our school website is constantly being updated; our focus has been to show our students engage in their learning.

Term Four commences on Monday 13 October 2025.
