Term Three School Board Award Winners Announced

The Edney Primary School Board Awards for Term Three have been presented to five worthy recipients who each exemplify excellence in one of the priority areas of our School Plan, Edney 2020.

The recipients have demonstrated exemplary practice, innovation, dedication and above all, the school values of Respect and Excellence.

The School Board Awards are open all year round, and nominations are invited for any staff, parent or community members who are contributing to our schools success for children.

EXCELLENCE IN BUILDING A STRONG COMMUNITY

Mrs Tambri Farrar

Tambri has given hours of her time over many years to serve the Board and P&C, help in the Canteen and with fundraising and school banking. Whenever there was a need she would step up and donate her time. She is very deserving of this award especially as she is leaving the school this year. Her continuous help will be greatly missed.

EXCELLENCE IN NURTURING THE FUTURE

Mrs Corrina Forbes

If Edney had only one face, it would be Corrina Forbes. She is the embodiment of Respect and Excellence and someone who is truly nurturing the future. As the frontline, she is the consummate professional, hardworking, friendly and deeply caring. There is nothing Corrina won’t do to brighten the day of our students, parents and staff.

 

EXCELLENCE IN LEADING INNOVATION AND SUSTAINABILITY

Mrs Katie Rozario

As our Visual Arts Specialist, Katie has transformed the art room and inspired children and colleagues to pursue and develop their talents with her gentle, caring and expert guidance. Although Katie is employed for just one day per week as our Art Specialist, she has direct contact with more than 200 children including through the before and after school art clubs which she conducts in her own time.

 

EXCELLENCE IN NURTURING THE FUTURE

Ms Deanna Hoy

Deanna fosters strong and enduring links between the school and community. Deanna leads Aboriginal Education at Edney that is affirming, inclusive and celebrates diversity. She supports students, staff and families in building a sense of identity and brings groups together to build capacity. Her leadership of NAIDOC events stretches across the whole school, and the whole school year.

 

EXCELLENCE IN TEACHING AND LEARNING

Mrs Rosie Connolly

 

Rosie creates a classroom culture that is safe, supportive and inspiring. She communicates positively with parents, colleagues and students, setting and achieving high standards. Her integration of sustainability initiatives into her teaching and learning programs fosters responsibility and citizenship among the class.
