School Board Award Winners

The Edney Primary School Board Awards for Term Two have been presented to five worthy recipients who each exemplify excellence in one of the priority areas of our School Plan, Edney 2020.

Drawn from 18 nominations, the recipients have demonstrated exemplary practice, innovation, dedication and above all, the school values of Respect and Excellence.

The School Board Awards are open all year round, and nominations are invited for any staff, parent or community members who are contributing to our schools success for children.

EXCELLENCE IN BUILDING A STRONG COMMUNITY

Mrs Kaye Andrews

 

Mrs Andrews has been listening and helping students to read for 2 or 3 days a week over the last five years at Edney PS. She also attended the Edney Echidnas playgroup to support families of pre-Kindergarten students during this time.

EXCELLENCE IN NURTURING THE FUTURE

Mrs Deb Scanlan

 

Mrs Scanlan works tirelessly to improve the educational outcomes for students with special needs. She shows compassion and empathy when dealing with all students, especially those she is assigned to. She assists with integrating these students into the classroom and making learning fun for all students. Mrs Scanlan also maintains and improves her professional learning in her own time to ensure that every student she works with has an enriched learning experience.

 

EXCELLENCE IN LEADING INNOVATION AND SUSTAINABILITY

Mrs Kathryn Johnson

 

Mrs Johnson is a dedicated teacher with a strong ethos on sustainability and the environment. Her work in this area reflects her care and concern for the future of our students. She has encouraged the whole school to become more aware of the environmental issues and has improved the approach the school has taken to recycle, reduce and reuse.

 

EXCELLENCE IN TEACHING AND LEARNING

Mrs Stacey Brown

 

Mrs Brown is an organised, talented and incredible teacher. She is always sharing and collaborating as well as checking up on her colleagues’ wellbeing. She has been complimented time after time by students, teachers and parents on her efforts and time she puts into connecting with students.

 

EXCELLENCE IN TEACHING AND LEARNING

Mrs Teresa Woosnam

 

Mrs Woosnam’s classroom is a model of excellence. Her curriculum knowledge and programs are of outstanding quality, innovative and incorporate use of a variety of technologies. Her teaching practices are engaging students at all levels and supportive to students with special needs. The tone of the room is uplifting, purposeful and nurturing.
